The CMA has now published final advice to help higher education providers understand their responsibilities under consumer protection law.

Consultation description
This consultation is primarily aimed at HE providers and their representatives. The purpose of the advice is to help HE providers understand their responsibilities under consumer protection legislation, when dealing with undergraduate students, and how they can comply with it. This advice may also be relevant to HE providers of other types of courses.
The draft advice is intended for publicly funded universities, further education colleges that offer HE courses and privately funded universities and colleges.
It will also be of interest to:
- HE sector organisations
- enforcers such as local authority Trading Standards services
- government departments
- consumer groups
- student groups
- advisers
The CMA invites responses from interested parties to the questions that can be found in the consultation document.
