Detail of outcome

Defra have considered all the consultation responses and published a revised version of the UK plan for shipments of waste. This is in line with the approach to amend the UK plan proposed in the consultation document. We believe this will meet the policy aim of maintaining UK self-sufficiency in waste disposal activities.

Consultation description

We want to know what you think about our plans to update the UK plan for shipments of waste. The plan prohibits shipments of waste for disposal to and from the UK and also explains some exceptions to this rule.

We want to create new exceptions to this rule for two different types of waste and remove one exception for another type of waste. We also want to explain more clearly how you can meet another of the exceptions.
