Consultation description

We want to know if you think the revised code of practice gives clear and practical guidance on fulfilling your legal duty of care obligations. The current code of practice does not reflect a number of important legislative changes relating to the duty of care since its publication in 1996.

Duty of care is a legal requirement for those dealing with certain kinds of waste to take all reasonable steps to keep it safe. It is set out in the Environmental Protection Act 1990. It applies to anyone who is a holder of household, industrial and commercial waste.
