Detail of outcome

Following this consultation, the government has published the waste prevention programme for England, ‘Maximising Resources, Minimising Waste’.

The cross-departmental programme sets out government’s priorities for managing resources and waste, in line with the resources and waste strategy for England.

The programme aims to move to a circular economy by keeping products and materials in circulation for as long as possible and at their highest value. This includes increasing the reuse, repair and remanufacture of products and materials.
