Windrush compensation: call for evidence
Detail of outcome
A public consultation on the design of the compensation scheme is now open. We want to hear from those who have been affected by this situation, and their families, on the design of the compensation scheme.
The analysis of public feedback is available to read in chapter 2 of the Windrush compensation consultation document.
Original call for evidence
Call for evidence description
The Prime Minister and the Home Secretary have made a pledge to support those of the Windrush generation who have faced difficulties in establishing their status under the immigration system. They have committed to do right by those who have contributed so much and are such an integral part of the country.
A call for evidence was the first step to listen to those affected, before engaging on the details of the scheme. While the 4-week call for evidence to help shape the compensation scheme has closed, individuals can still share their opinions by emailing windrushcompensation@homeoffice.gov.uk.
A public consultation on the design of the compensation scheme is now open. We want to hear from those who have been affected by this situation, and their families, on the design of the compensation scheme.
We will be announcing details of the final scheme and how to apply as soon as possible after the public consultation has ended.
