Following on from this consultation, John Hayes, the Minister for Shipping, has made an order to remove competent harbour authority status from Yarmouth Harbour Authority.

The Department for Transport is seeking views on whether to remove the status of competent harbour authority from Yarmouth Harbour Authority, Isle of Wight.

Our consultation document will be circulated to national and local maritime organisations who have an interest in the operations of vessels at Yarmouth to consider whether the removal of status of competent harbour authority is appropriate.
