Flight Lieutenant Kevin Barry Main and Flight Lieutenant David Rhys Williams killed in Iraq
On Saturday 22 March 2003, an RAF GR4 Tornado aircraft from RAF Marham, which was returning from an operational mission, was engaged near the Kuwaiti border by a Patriot missile battery. Both aircrew were killed.
They were named as:
- Flight Lieutenant Kevin Barry Main, Pilot, IX (B) Squadron
- Flight Lieutenant David Rhys Williams, Navigator, IX (B) Squadron
