Adult Social Care Capacity: Expert Group
This group provides expert advice to the Department of Health and Social Care and the Minister for Social Care on how to achieve sustainable growth in the capacity of adult social care services with a particular focus on preparing for winter 2023 to 2024.
Role of group
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England jointly published their delivery plan for recovering urgent and emergency care services in January 2023.
The plan committed DHSC to establishing a new expert group to bring together:

The purpose of the group is to provide expert advice to DHSC and the Minister for Social Care on how to achieve sustainable growth in the capacity of adult social care services with a particular focus on preparing for winter 2023 to 2024.
The group will meet on a monthly basis. The first meeting took place on 10 March 2023 and the terms of reference will be published in due course.
