Independent Archive Advisory Group

The Independent Archive Advisory Group (IAAG) supports the rationalisation of the Defra Tissue Archive for Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSE), held at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).

Remit of the group

The IAAG will provide ad hoc advice to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) TSE tissue archive. This will ensure any reduction of the collection is carried out in a rational, open, and transparent manner in line with Defra’s policy to maintain TSE capability and Reference Laboratory functions at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
