MOD Police Committee

Section 1(5) of the Ministry of Defence Police Act (1987) requires the Secretary of State to appoint a Police Committee to advise him on matters concerning the Ministry of Defence Police (MDP), and to provide scrutiny and assurance that constabulary powers are being exercised lawfully.

The MOD Police Committee is an associate member of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), and mirrors policing governance best practice where possible and appropriate.
