Burial and Cemeteries Advisory Group
The BACG provides advice on burials and burial grounds.
Role of the group
The group advises burial authorities, the public and government on:
- providing, managing and maintaining burial grounds, including those closed to further burials
- good burial practice and procedures, including on exhumation
- possible improvements to policy and legislation
It also makes recommendations on future advisory arrangements.
