Trade Specialised Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade

This Specialised Committee monitors the implementation and functioning of the Technical Barriers to Trade Title in the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement.

The Specialised Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade is a joint forum between the UK and the EU. It oversees the majority of the provisions agreed between the parties in the Technical Barriers to Trade title (Chapter IV) of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement.

The committee is a forum for the parties to monitor and review the implementation of the chapter, ensure its proper functioning, hold technical discussions and exchange information.

The committee supervises the operation and functioning of 3 working groups that cover the following sectors:

medicinal products
motor vehicles and parts
organic products
