Welfare Sector Transparency Board
The Welfare Sector Transparency Board advises on transparency in the welfare sector.
Role of the group
The government has set up transparency boards to advise on transparency in specific policy areas. DWP and the Cabinet Office have set up the Welfare Sector Transparency Board. The board looks at:
- DWP’s growth review requirements set out in the Open Data Strategy
- the linking and release of DWP data sets that could be used by industry for commercial purposes, analysed by academia for wider public benefit, or reused across other government departments and local authorities
The DWP Open Data Group supports the work of the board.
Membership
The board is chaired by Paul Lodge DWP Director of Information, and includes members from:
- the financial services sector
- employment-related service providers
- academia
- the Information Commissioner’s Office
- Citizens Advice
- Demographics User Group
- Cabinet Office
