Responsibilities
The minister’s responsibilities include:
- children’s social care, including social work, local authority performance and family law
- children’s social care workforce
- children in care, child protection, adoption and care leavers
- special educational needs and disabilities including high needs funding
- disadvantage and social mobility
- early years and support for the home learning environment
The minister will also support the Secretary of State for Education in his role as skills lead, including on T Levels, apprenticeships and adult education.
