Contractors for Highways England will begin replacing the lights at Lofthouse Interchange, where the M62 meets the M1, on Monday 25 January.

There will be closures of certain sections of Lofthouse roundabout, and the M62 junction 29 eastbound exit slip road will be closed. There will also be lane closures through the Lofthouse junction on the M62 on both the westbound and eastbound carriageways.

Highways England Project Manager Mark Ramsden said:

We will be installing 104 LED lights over the next few weeks. These lights are more efficient and will help to improve visibility for drivers at Lofthouse Interchange.

The work is being carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday morning, when traffic levels are at their lowest to minimise the impact for drivers.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place, with the scheme due to be completed in February.
