Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s global scholarships programme. Established in 1983, the programme makes awards to outstanding individuals who demonstrate the potential to become future leaders, decision makers and opinion formers. Scholarships are awarded for post-graduate study, usually a Master’s degree programme of one year, across a wide range of fields. These include politics, government, business, media, the environment, civil society religion and academia. Applicants should be high-calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership.
Once awarded, the scholarship will cover the scholar’s tuition fees, a maintenance allowance (for one person), travel to the UK and additional grants to cover essential expenditure.
