A64 overnight slip road closures for resurfacing
Work to provide a new smother road surface for drivers using the A64 Headley Bar westbound entry slip road in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, will start next week.
The slip road will be closed overnight from Monday 23 June until Friday 27 June, between 8pm and 6am. At times a lane 1 closure will be required on the A64 westbound main carriageway.
Highways Agency Project Manager John Howard said:
During the closures we will be resurfacing the road, replacing road markings and road studs, and carrying out other routine maintenance. There will be a clearly signed diversion route in place and drivers are asked to take extra care and leave more time for their journeys.
During the closures drivers will use the eastbound A659 (Leeds Road). In Tadcaster vehicles will turn right onto the A162 to access the A64 eastbound carriageway at Towton (Tadcaster Ings) Interchange. They will then continue along the A64 to exit at Bilbrough Top, where they will be directed to re-join the A64 westbound carriageway to return to Headley Bar.
