Air quality in your area

Information on how to access health advice and monitor air quality forecasts for your area.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Defra provides health advice and a wide range of information to the public on air quality. This is so everyone, especially vulnerable groups, can take appropriate action where necessary.

Our latest forecast available shows that air pollution is expected to reach high levels in parts of the South East, East, and in areas of the South West of England on Thursday 18 September 2014.

Levels are likely to be moderate for southern South East England and Wales on Friday 19 September but should return to low levels during Saturday.

Our air quality forecast and health advice is updated daily and can be found on the UK Air website, and on the Defra air quality Twitter feed, @Defraukair.

People should use this resource for regular updates. We also have a freephone helpline (0800 556677).

Visit UK Air for more information on your area.
