An inspection of the immigration system as it relates to the social care sector
In line with his 2023-24 inspection plan, the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration has commenced an inspection of the immigration system as it relates to the social care.
The inspection will have a particular focus on the:
- efficiency and effectiveness of the sponsor licencing process
- quality of services provided by the compliance teams, including the provisions in place to safeguard employees from exploitation
- extent and quality of engagement and communications between the Home Office and social care sector
The inspection team anticipates reporting to the Home Secretary by December 2023.
