Animal medicine improvement notice Voo Veterinary Group, Surbiton.

Improvement notice served for failure to comply with regulatory audit requirements.

This notice was served to Voo Veterinary Group by a VMD inspector during an unannounced visit.

The practice had failed to take efficient action following the last VMD inspection regarding their controlled drugs records.

The following contravened the Veterinary Medicines Regulation (VMR) 2013:

Failure to comply with Schedule 3, Paragraph 15 – Annual Audit.

The measures to be taken to secure compliance are:

• The practice must carry out a detailed audit of their controlled drugs records.
• Records of disposed prescription veterinary medicinal products must be kept.
• Incoming and outgoing stock must be reconciled with products held in the controlled drugs cabinet.
• All discrepancies must be investigated and recorded.
