Investigation of Piper PA-23-250 fatal accident during approach to Bagby Airfield in North Yorkshire, 6 July 2023
This statement provides an update on the ongoing AAIB investigation into a fatal accident involving a Piper PA-23-250 Aztec near Bagby Airfield on 6 July 2023. The aircraft was seen to enter a steep dive whilst nearing the final approach to land and did not recover.
The investigation is ongoing to try and determine the probable cause of the dive and any actions that could help to prevent a future recurrence. A final report will be published when the investigation has been completed.
