This statement provides an update on the AAIB investigation into an accident involving a Schleicher AS-K13 glider, G-DCMK, near Talgarth Airfield, Powys, on 12 August 2022.
Following an aerotow launch, the tow rope disconnected from the glider at low level. The pilot carried out a forced landing in a nearby field, during which both he and the student on board sustained serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and the final report will be published in due course.
