Consular network meets in Quito to discuss opportunities and challenges for the year ahead

Annual conference of the British Consular Network in Ecuador 2016

The British Embassy hosted its annual Consular Assistance Network Conference in Quito on 25 February. This involved British Honorary Consuls from Cuenca, Guayaquil and Galapagos, and consular agents from across Ecuador. It was an opportunity to discuss consular assistance and crisis planning for the year ahead. Representatives from ECU-911 and the Ministry of Human Mobility provided information on assistance available for British nationals in Ecuador, and the group received an update about Cotopaxi volcano from the National Geophysical Institute.
