Another award for HMRC Solicitor’s Office and Legal Services (SOLS)

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Solicitor’s Office wins the ‘Outstanding Innovation and Collaboration award’ at the British Legal Awards

HMRC’s Solicitor’s Office and Legal Services (SOLS) won the ‘Outstanding Innovation and Collaboration award’ at the British Legal Awards on 17 November 2021. This follows on from their success in the recent Lawyer Awards.

Alan Evans, HMRC’s General Counsel and Director General for SOLS, said:

“As with the Lawyer Awards, although the main focus of our entry was on our work on the furlough and other Covid support schemes, it also recognises our work on setting up a new UK customs regime and protecting £10bn in tax through litigation. I’m immensely proud of the team for the fantastic work.

As the Attorney General has acknowledged, to prevail against such stiff competition recognises the huge contribution made by the professionals in HMRC (SOLS) and across the Government Legal Profession (GLP) at a time when most needed by the country. Again, we could not have delivered the schemes at the pace we did without the fantastic support of colleagues elsewhere in the GLP – in particular Treasury Legal Advisers, Office of Parliamentary Counsel and the Attorney General’s Office.”
