Applications for Chevening Scholarships now open
Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s flagship global scholarship programme.
We are pleased to announce that applications for the following prestigious Chevening programmes are now open:
Chevening Masters Scholarship Programme:
Around 60 fully funded scholarships for outstanding Indian graduates to study one year Masters in any subject at a recognised UK university.
Application window: 3 August – 3 November 2015 for September 16-17 academic year intake
Eligibility: Graduates with at least two years’ work experience at the time of applying. This can include voluntary work and paid or unpaid internships.
Chevening TCS Cyber Security Fellowship Programme:
An exclusive 12 weeks fully funded Fellowship for mid-career Indian professionals at Cranfield University, which provides an understanding of policy and legislative approaches in Cyber Security and its implications for national security, commercial opportunity, crime prevention and the right to privacy. It aims to develop professionals who can effectively manage and exploit the threats and opportunities of cyberspace at the organisational level.
Application window: 3 August - 6 September 2015
Places available: 8
Duration: 12 Weeks (7 March- 27 May 2016)
Eligibility: Minimum seven years work experience in Cyber Security/Cyber Policy issues either as a policy formulator, commentator or academic: applications are encouraged from industry, civil society, academia, and the public sector.
Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship Programme:
A fully-funded, eight-week fellowship at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Westminster, London with the theme ‘Good Governance in a Changing World: Media, Politics and Society’. This will enable 14 exceptional, mid-career journalists (seven for India) to acquire skills to carry out highly responsible roles within their media organisations and build relationships in their region.
Application window: 3 August - 6 September 2015
Places available: 14 (Seven for Indians)
Duration: 8 Weeks (25 January- 18 March 2016)
Eligibility: Future media leaders and opinion formers working in the areas of political, economic and business journalism in India. The ideal candidate should be a mid career journalist from India covering political and economic sectors.

Chevening scholarships are funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The India programme is now the largest in the world. We are offering over 130 fully-funded, merit-based scholarships for one year Masters in any subject at a recognised UK university for graduates and fellowships (thematic short-courses) at designated UK universities for mid-to-senior level professionals.
The Chevening scheme began in 1983 and is now offered in 160 countries with over 1500 awards on offer globally for this year. There are around 44,000 Chevening alumni in the world and 2,200 in India.
