Applications invited for appointment to the Civil Service Commissioners for Northern Ireland

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland is seeking to appoint a new Civil Service Commissioner for Northern Ireland

The Civil Service Commissioners for Northern Ireland operate independently from government and are responsible for ensuring appointments to the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) are made on merit on the basis of fair and open competition.

Personal Specification

Candidates for this role should be able to work as an effective member of a body of Commissioners; forge good working relations with colleagues, senior members of the public sector and with partner organisations; command credibility; make an immediate and powerful impact and promote the highest standards in public life.

Terms of appointment

The position of Commissioner is for a term of five years.

The position attracts a daily remuneration of £300 with an expected time commitment of three to four days per month.
