Appointments to National Park Authorities and the Broads Authority

National Park Authorities and the Broads Authority re-appoint members.

Further to an Information Bulletin issued 28 March 2013, additional appointments to England’s National Park Authorities and the Broads Authority have been made by Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Owen Paterson. Each appointment took effect from 1 April 2013.

The post-holders are the national voice on the Authorities, which have strategic responsibility for conservation, recreation, planning, access and resources.

Six existing members have been re-appointed for terms ranging from one year to four years:

  • Northumberland – Michael Bell, Paul Cowie, Peter Murray, Reverend Canon Graham Usher and Mel Whewell
  • North York Moors – Dr Philip Wheeler
