Appointments to the School Teachers’ Review Body
Daniel Flint and Mike Redhouse appointed to the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB).
Two new members have been appointed to the STRB - Daniel Flint and Mike Redhouse, the Department for Education announced today. They took up their positions on 10 February 2014 and will be in post for 3 years.
Dame Patricia Hodgson, Chair of the STRB said:
I am delighted to welcome Daniel and Mike to the review body. I am confident that their wide range of knowledge and experience will assist the review body in its on-going and important work considering pay and conditions for teachers.
The STRB provides independent advice to the government on pay and conditions for teachers and school leaders in England and Wales and these new appointees will lend their considerable expertise to its on-going programme of work.
The appointment process was run in accordance with the code of practice issued by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments (OCPA). The appointees declared no political activity and hold no other public appointments.
Biographies
Daniel Flint has been the Global Human Resources (HR) Director at the international law firm Simmons & Simmons LLP since 2011. He has worked in HR for over 20 years, first at Tate and Lyle Sugars, and then at Accenture, where he served as HR Director from 2006 to 2010. He graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA (Hons) in chemistry, and is a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development from the University of Westminster.
Mike Redhouse is currently Principal of EMES Consulting, which he founded in 2002, helping many major organisations with their remuneration and benefits issues. Mike graduated in mathematics from the Open University, and his career included spells as a Full Equity Partner at Ernst and Young, and as Employment Policy Director at Diageo. Mike currently serves as a Trustee of the APEX Trust, which supports offenders returning to work, and as Chair of Trustees of St. Luke’s Hospice in Harrow.
