Sydney 2018 Invictus Games

Sydney will see increased activity as spectators and fans travel to Sydney, Australia in October for the 2018 Invictus Games. Accommodation in Sydney can experience high demands as do surrounding areas.

We recommend planning your trip ahead of arriving in Australia.

Passports and visas

You need a visa to enter Australia. If you have a British Citizen passport you can apply for an eVisitor visa direct from the Department of Immigration & Border Protection or you can apply for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) via your travel agent or airline.

Your passport needs to be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. If you’re transiting other countries, please be aware that many countries require at least 6 months validity remaining on your passport.

If you have a UK driving licence, it would be good to travel with it for ID purposes for socialising in licensed venues rather than running the risk of losing your passport. Emergency travel documents can be issued should a passport be lost or stolen, but this can only be done at British Consulates in usual office hours.

Travel insurance

Before travelling make sure you have suitable travel insurance and make sure your policy covers you for any activities you plan to do.

Transport at the Games

Events will be held across Sydney, including Sydney Olympic Park and on, and around Sydney Harbour.

Sydney has a comprehensive public transport system. The Transport for NSW website has information on getting to events.

Information on accessible activities and attractions can be found at the Sydney for All website.

To avoid disappointment we advise that you plan and book your visit as early as possible in advance of your arrival in Australia.
