The UK Department for International Trade (DIT) is supporting the Australian British Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Australian British Fintech Cyber Catalyst’ (ABFCC) which takes place in London in early July 2018

A 60 strong delegation of Australian fintech and cyber businesses, along with technology experts, financiers, government representatives and innovators, will journey to the UK.

The programme will bring together the UK and Australian fintech and cyber ecosystems to share best practice, knowledge and encourage long lasting connections and partnerships between the UK and Australia.

Delegates will take part in 3 days of conference, visits and meetings with UK leaders and businesses in the fintech and cyber space. On the agenda is the recently signed UK-Australia Fintech Bridge and the opportunities this presents for innovative UK and Australian fintechs seeking expansion in each other’s markets.

The UK has the largest financial footprint in the world worth over £176 billion. This combined with its unrivalled access to capital, talent and an innovative technology scene, makes it the natural global hub for fintech and is well placed to collaborate with Australia’s own thriving fintech and cyber industries. The Fintech Bridge aims to encourage this collaboration and ease access to each other’s markets.

Following the ABFCC delegates will have the opportunity to join London Fintech Week – a global gathering of the best and brightest fintech talent the world has to offer.

Michael Ward, Director-General, UK Department for International Trade, Australia and New Zealand said:

We’re delighted to be supporting the ABCC’s Fintech and Cyber Catalyst again this year.

It’s an incredibly strong delegation of innovative Australian companies alongside government and industry representatives and, having just met many of them at the pre-departure briefing we hosted today, I’m confident it will be a huge success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both Australian and UK companies seeking international growth and we are excited to support them on their journey.

Contact the UK Department for International Trade if you are interested in expanding globally into the UK or Australia.
