Ross Clark’s article ‘Is Osborne In A Pickles Over Land Auctions?’ is completely wide of the mark.

Had he asked the Communities and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles for his view of Chancellor George Osborne’s pilot land-auctions scheme, instead of an outside academic, that’s what he would have been told. The piloting of land auctions is an integral part of how we will rebuild Britain’s economy and unlock a broken planning system so that it works to support economic growth and sustainable development.
