British Ambassador attends the concert of Sami Yusuf, the great British Muslim singer

The British Ambassador Mr. Jamie Bowden has attended the concert of the celebrated British Muslim singer Sami Yusuf. Sami is a singer, songwriter, composer, producer and musician with a huge fan base across the Middle East, Europe, North America and North Africa. He entered the record books after 250.000 people packed into Taksim Square in Istanbul, Turkey to see him perform. He was hailed by the Guardian as the ‘ most famous British Muslim in the world’. The Ambassador said after attending the concert at Sultan Qaboos University :

‘It is a great honour to meet Sami Yusuf and to attend his fantastic concert. Sami is not just a singer, but a thinker of international fame. He has worked constantly for the vulnerable and poor areas of conflict such as Darfur and Gaza. I am very proud that Sami is British. But he is much more than this. He is a true citizen of the world.’
