Ambassador Robin Barnett speaks at Leon Koźmiński Academy

British Ambassador to Poland, Robin Barnett, has delivered a lecture at Leon Koźmiński’s Academy in Warsaw, one of Poland’s leading private universities.

The Ambassador’s address, entitled An Outward Looking Europe for the 21st Century, focussed on the challenges and opportunities of globalisation. In his lecture, Robin underscored that tackling the globalisation agenda was key to long term prosperity and security. He was happy that the UK and Poland were already on the same page on much of that agenda.

Ambassador Barnett also made it clear that ignoring globalisation and hoping it would go away was not an option. The way forward was to confront the challenges of globalisation and seize the opportunities it offered both nationally and as EU members. Otherwise, one risked long-term relative decline. The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session with students.
