British Ambassador wrote to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II on 21 October to express his sympathies over the attack on a wedding party at The Virgin Church in Giza:
I am writing to convey on behalf of my government my shock and sympathy at the news of the criminal attack which took place yesterday on a wedding party at The Virgin church in Giza. We share in the wholehearted condemnation of this act of terrorism and with all it implies for seeking to sow disharmony between different faiths.
