British Ambassador, Sir William Patey’s Statement on Parliamentary crisis

Responding to yesterday’s announcement by President Karzai on the Parliamentary crisis, Sir William Patey said:

“We welcome the Presidential decree which provides the opportunity for the conclusion of the parliamentary crisis. We’ve always stated the final decisions should rest with the Independent Election Commission (IEC). We now look forward to the IEC completing their work as soon as possible, and Parliament resuming its normal work”.
