On 14 October 2014, the British Ambassador, Ian Cliff, delivered agricultural equipment to 24 farmers from Leposavic and South Mitrovica. This is a continuation of last year’s project where the Embassy, through Caritas, delivered 80 agricultural packages, provided over 360 farmers with tailored made training sessions, and facilitated business contacts via different workshops and agricultural fairs.

Ambassador Cliff said:

This project engaged both municipalities, Mitrovica South and Leposavic, and is being used as a tool for reconciliation and encouragement for greater cooperation between Albanians and Serbs.

After the official ceremony, the Ambassador paid a field visit to last year’s grant winners. The farmers praised work of the Embassy and stated that the project was a great impetus for them to produce more, create jobs, expand into new markets, and provide for their families.
