British Embassy funds two day seminar in Ashgabat
The seminar on the strategies of monetising natural gas was co-funded by the British Embassy and three British energy companies – BP, Buried Hill and Shell.
With thanks to the renowned British company Argus Media, who ran a two-day seminar in Ashgabat, officials from the Turkmengas State Concern research institute expanded their knowledge on various strategies that could be deployed to monetise Turkmenistan’s huge natural gas resources. Argus Media are a leading British independent energy and commodity price-reporting agency, with a high level of experience and expertise.
Topics included the introduction of new techniques to maximise the economic value of the domestic natural gas industry through investments into downstream industries, such as Gas To Liquid (GTL) and the production of fertilisers and chemicals that are in high demand globally. Participants also learned fundamental market information and key usages of the gas industry, as well as that of gas consuming and processing industries.
The seminar was co-funded by the British Embassy and three British energy companies – BP, Buried Hill and Shell. At an enjoyable evening reception to mark the end of the seminar, the British Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires presented certificates to all those who attended the event.
