British Embassy in Addis Ababa Holds a Remembrance Day Service

British Embassy in Addis Ababa held a remembrance Sunday service honouring the fallen at the Gulele Commonwealth War Graves.

HMA Susanna Moorehead led Remembrance Service

On 12 November, Ambassador Susanna Moorehead paid tribute to members of the Armed Forces who have gave their lives to ensure the independence of Ethiopia in 1941.

British Embassy in Addis Ababa held a remembrance Sunday service honouring the fallen at the Gulele Commonwealth War Graves.

Ambassadors, Defence Attachés of various countries and high level Ethiopia Government officials paid their respects to those who died in wars, alongside serving military, veterans and dignitaries from across the world.

Ambassador Susanna Moorehead and dignitaries laid wreaths of flowers on war memorials. The ceremony was followed by a two minute silence.

The Ambassador hosted a reception at the British Residence in Addis Ababa afterwards.

The Commonwealth Remembrance Day Service is held annually around the world to commemorate the lives of all the servicemen and women who died during the two World Wars and subsequent military operations.
