To celebrate International Women’s Day the British Embassy in Montevideo is once again offering the opportunity to be “Leader for a Day,” following the success of last year’s inaugural event.

The British Ambassador, Faye O’Connor, together with female leaders from a range of fields, will offer the chance to join them participating in their agenda on March 8.

The objective is to promote greater representation of women in leadership positions, and successful contestants will have the opportunity to learn about the work of outstanding professionals, and to connect with top-level leaders in different fields.

How to apply?

This year, candidates will only be selected from those women who apply for the “Hace la Fuerza” project in Uruguay. This six-month mentoring program takes place in six countries in Latin America, connecting first-generation university students with women who work in different fields. The project helps mentees to create professional networks, gain self-confidence and boost their careers.

Those who apply to participate in “Hace la Fuerza” between February 16 and 23 may also choose to enter the “Leader for a Day” competition, to take place on on March 8.

To apply you must:
