British Embassy supports international arbitration in Angola

The British government in collaboration with FTL Advogados and CMS supports development of international arbitration in Africa.

As part of a project to boost international arbitration, the British Embassy in Angola organised a conference titled “Efficient litigation resolution in Angola” on 28 February 2018.

National and international speakers were present at the conference held at the Hotel Tropico. They discussed on arbitration as a catalyst for economic growth, dispute resolution, challenges and opportunities of new signatories of the New York Convention and current overview of the Angolan arbitration practice.

Andrew Ford, Chargé d’Affaires, British Embassy Angola said:

Arbitration is a relatively quick, transparent and reliable way to settle commercial disputes without the need for a lengthy or costly court case. We’re delighted to support the growth of arbitration in Angola, which would contribute to a better business environment for international companies operating here.
