The British Embassy Tokyo is looking for an Industrial Doctor to provide specialist support to jobholders. The deadline for bids is 1200hrs on 8th August 2019 (Japan Standard Time).

The Japan Network is a platform for of British government departments operating in Japan. It consists of the British Embassy Tokyo and the British Consulate-General Osaka, with over 150 employees (including diplomats and locally engaged staff).

You should aim to provide specialist support to jobholders and cover a range of mental health needs of both a personal and professional nature. You will also need to provide feedback and recommendations to line managers and senior management, while respecting medical privacy. As an Industrial Doctor, you will promote general well-being throughout the organisation.

Monthly

  • Provide confidential 1-on-1 counseling services to employees working at BE Tokyo and BCG Osaka. The minimum requirement is 2 hours per month, which may be adjusted depending on service demand.
  • Identify and engage with employees with mental health issues and provide support in their recovery.
  • Submit written reports outlining activities, accomplishments, and recommendations to the Corporate Services Team.

Annually

  • Conduct a stress survey annually and present the results and analysis to the British Embassy management team.
  • Implement recommendations based on the result of the survey (e.g. organise a seminar for employees to promote well-being).

Basic requirements

  • Must be a licensed mental health professional
  • Language: Native Japanese and Business English or vice-versa
