British Film wins Prize at Pyongyang International Film Festival
Fast Girls (Metro International Films) won the prize for best photography at the 14th Pyongyang International Film Festival (PIFF)
The British Ambassador to North Korea, Mike Gifford, accepted the award on behalf of the film’s producers.
PIFF took place between 17 and 24 September. Entries in this year’s festival came from several countries including, Germany, France, Italy, India, China, Russia, Iran and the UK. The British Embassy, Pyongyang, with the assistance of the British Council, arranged for five UK made films to be shown at the festival.
The aim of the festival was to give local audiences the chance to view a selection of modern British cinema and provide a rare opportunity to view creative influences from outside of North Korea.
