The British High Commission Accra is inviting proposals for projects that it can fund under its Bilateral Programme Budget (BPB).
Bilateral Programme Budget 2013/2014
The Bilateral Programme Budget (BPB) is primarily used to help the British High Commission Accra achieve the strategic priorities of the UK’s foreign ministry, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. In Ghana, we try to support projects that demonstrate where the FCO can really add value, and where its money can have the biggest impact against its objectives.
Our Previous Funding Activities
In financial year 2012-13, the British High Commission Accra provided funding to several civil societies organisations on a range of projects.
These include efforts to:

Increasing participation in, and strengthening the integrity of, the 2012 elections (eg: voter education)

Tackling corruption
-
Promoting democracy and good governance, including participation by marginalised groups

Promoting and protecting human rights.
What kind of projects are we looking for this year?
We are looking for project proposals in the following areas only:

Promoting and protecting human rights

Tackling Corruption
-
Governance and Political Stability
-
Commonwealth
-
Reducing / combating the effects of Climate Change.

Please note that there are three different forms, one for projects under £5000, one for projects under £10,000 and one for projects over £10,000.
Please ensure you complete all required sections of the form properly as incomplete proposal forms will be rejected.
Please also ensure that you complete the activity-based budget which will explain how much money is required and how the money will be spent.
We are keen to provide funding for projects with a budget of up to £10,000. Projects above this limit are not ruled out, but will be funded only under exceptional circumstances.
We will review your proposal and inform you if you are successful.
We will then put in place with you the arrangements for the disbursement of funds and the monitoring and evaluation of the project. These arrangements will include submitting quarterly project and financial reports during the implementation of your project, and a final report at the project’s completion.
During the course of your project implementation, we will undertake at least one evaluation and monitoring visit to the project.
