The British Home Secretary Sajid Javid visited Lahore today to meet key political figures and enhance UK-Pakistan security co-operation.

The British Home Secretary Sajid Javid meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Saradar Usman Buzdar.

The Home Secretary held meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Saradar Usman Buzdar and key provincial Cabinet Ministers and had a bilateral with Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar. With the Head of the Punjab Police, Mr Javid witnessed a demonstration of an operational counter-terrorism unit who showcased their impressive capabilities.

Later, he met leading women entrepreneurs, toured Badshahi Mosque and Iqbal’s Tomb with Governor Sarwar and met some of Pakistan’s leading cultural figures.

The Home Secretary is the first British minister to visit Pakistan since Imran Khan became Prime Minister. On his first day, he met PM Khan, key members of the Cabinet and was part of a series of events representing the breadth of the UK’s relationship with Pakistan.
