British parliamentary delegation visits Angola
Parliamentary delegation of British parliamentarians visited Angola between 5 and 9 October
The visit was organised with the support of the British Embassy in Luanda and under the umbrella of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU).
The IPU is the focal point for world-wide parliamentary dialogue and works for peace and co-operation among peoples and for the firm establishment of representative democracy.
This visit symbolised the good relations between the Angolan and British parliaments and was in direct response to a visit by an Angolan parliamentary delegation that visited the UK in February 2011 led by the Angolan Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms Angela Braganca.
During their time in Angola the delegation met with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms Angela Braganca, the Head of the Parliamentary National Assembly and the Ministers for Justice and Human Rights and the Minister of Geology and Mines.
