British Prime Minister, David Cameron, congratulates President-elect of Guatemala Jimmy Morales
David Cameron today congratulated President-elect Jimmy Morales on his election.
In a letter sent today from his office in Downing Street in London, the Prime Minister said:
The UK and Guatemala enjoy a very positive bilateral relationship and I look forward to working with you to strengthen this in the years to come.
With many others around the world, I have watched with admiration as Guatemala has tackled corruption at the very highest levels over recent months.
The UK stands ready to support your new administration as you work to convert this period of historic change into enduring justice and prosperity for the Guatemalan people.
The British Ambassador to Guatemala delivered the Prime Minister’s message to the President-elect on 28 October.
