Cabinet Office match funds Localgiving’s Grow Your Tenner campaign
The Grow Your Tenner campaign helps to make public donations to UK local charities and community groups go further.
Cabinet Office has today announced match funding of £122,500 for Localgiving’s Grow Your Tenner fundraising campaign, which helps small, local charities and community groups with an annual income of up to £1 million.
The fundraising campaign will match one-off donations pound-for-pound up to £10, and monthly donations up to £10 per month for 3 months, helping make donations from the public to UK local charities and community groups go further.
Grow Your Tenner runs from 10am on 13 October 2015 until the match fund is fully allocated, or 5pm on 18 November 2015 – whichever comes first. The campaign offers each local group taking part the opportunity to access up to £10,000 of match funding.
This is the fourth year that the Cabinet Office has match funded the fundraising campaign. Last year each £1 of funding given produced £6.43 of funding for smaller charities across England.
Minister for Civil Society, Rob Wilson, said:
Small charities and community groups can often struggle to access the resources they need and yet many are doing fantastic work supporting their local communities. Campaigns such as Localgiving’s Grow Your Tenner are important to help donations go further, strengthening smaller charities and community groups and helping us build a bigger and stronger society with compassion at its heart.
