Call for bids in Myanmar: Magna Carta Fund 2022 to 2023

The Magna Carta Fund for Human Rights and Democracy (MCFHRD) is the FCDO’s dedicated strategic fund supporting our global human rights and democracy work.

This was published under the 2022 Truss Conservative government

The British Embassy Yangon has £90,000 available for work under the Magna Carta Fund for fiscal year 2022 to 2023.  We are looking to fund two projects in total.

Selection criteria

Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • project impact: delivering sustainable, meaningful change
  • project viability: including the capacity of implementing organisation to deliver outcomes
  • project design: there must be clear links between the proposed activity and the project outcomes
  • risk management: robust analysis of key risks, and a plan of action to manage and mitigate those risks
  • value for money: including the number of direct beneficiaries and the scale of achievable outcomes

We draw your attention to the below key points:

  • proposals can be up to £50,000
  • the full project must begin and complete between 15 November 2022 and 31 March 2023
  • all funding must be activity-based (ie: not for general staff costs, office rental etc.)

How to apply

Submit completed (in English) project proposal form (ODT, 61.7 KB) and Activity Based Budget template (ODS, 10.2 KB) by 23:59 (GMT) on Wednesday, 12 October 2022 to BEYangon.Programmeproposals@fcdo.gov.uk.

Proposals must be completed in English. Only proposals using the designated application forms will be considered. Late proposals will not be considered.
