PSVI’s key objective is to work to end the culture of impunity that exists for crimes of sexual violence. Replacing this impunity with greater accountability, increasing the number of convictions for perpetrators of sexual violence crimes both nationally and internationally, and focusing on national ownership, leadership and responsibility are major goals of this new initiative. In particular, the fund will support projects which address sexual violence in conflict, and violence against women and girls.

Implementers are invited to submit proposals for projects that begin from November 2013 and run for a maximum length of 16 months (until February 2015). The deadline for proposals is 28 August 2013.

Projects for Iraq must be submitted via British Embassy Baghdad on the correct bidding forms. Implementers must gain embassy support for proposals. Please contact Zahra Al-Zubaidi on:

at least a week before the deadline if you are thinking of bidding, or if you have any further questions.
