A painting and poster contest for young people of Kyrgyzstan, inspired by the worldwide GREAT campaign launched by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, is continuing to accept submissions.
The British Embassy Bishkek announced a painting and poster contest for young people of Kyrgyzstan inspired by the worldwide GREAT campaign launched by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The campaign invites the world to take a fresh look at everything Britain has to offer, centring on areas of British excellence with a focus on Creativity, Knowledge, Heritage, Innovation and other themes.
The painting contest for children aged 10 to 13 years old and 14 to 16 years old invites the contestants to think about what is already known about the British contribution to worldwide heritage and also about its more recent achievements.
The poster competition aimed at young people aged 16 to 25 encourages participants to reflect on the main GREAT campaign themes through innovative thinking about theatre, literature, sports, music, architecture and fine arts, society, links between Great Britain and Kyrgyzstan.
The competition runs till 27 May. Winners will be invited to receive their prizes at the official launch of the exhibition of winning works in June (details of which will be publicised at a later date) to be organized as part of the first British Week in Kyrgyzstan to mark the opening of the new Embassy office in central Bishkek.
